What is Healthy Holidays?

Healthy Holidays is our local name for the Department for Education's (DfE) Holiday Activity and Food Programme.

Our fantastic holiday clubs provide delicious food and amazing activities for school aged children who are eligible for income-related Free School Meals. The best bit is that we receive funding from the Department for Education to run these clubs, so there is no cost to the parents/ carers for their children and young people to attend.

We run over the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays, for children from reception to year 11. To make a booking, you will first need to register. Once you have registered you will be notified that your eligibility has been confirmed and you will be able to go ahead and book activities for Easter, summer and Christmas once they are live.

Booking onto Healthy Holidays Sessions

You can book your child onto events that are ran by our Healthy Holidays Providers. To do so, you'll first need to create an account. Once that's created, you can log in and complete a registration form for each of your children. Once their eligibility is confirmed, you can book onto events using the above link. You can manage the sessions you are booked onto at any time by logging onto your account.

Eligibility

If your child is eligible for income related Free School Meals, and is between reception and year 11, then you can register and book onto the Healthy Holidays scheme. There is no cost to parents/ carers for your child to attend, however please ensure that you cancel your place if you can no longer go to ensure that another child can attend.

There are children and young people who are not eligible for Free School Meals who can attend the programme, they'll need to meet the qualifying criteria. More information can be found in the FAQs section.

Free school meals can be claimed by parents/carers receiving one of the qualifying benefits listed on the Gov.uk website. You can check your eligibility and how to apply for free school meals on the gov.uk website.

Where are the Healthy Holidays Sessions?

There are over 90 clubs across Leeds, run by schools, community organisations and council provisions. The closest one to you can be found on our interactive map below:

When are the Healthy Holidays activities running?

Please note that bookings for holiday clubs for Christmas 2024 will open in November. Once you have registered, we will email you when they are open for booking.

2024

  • Christmas 2024: 20th December to 6th January

Each provider will be running on different days and times, so please look at the events carefully to make sure you can attend each day.

Cancellation/ Non-Attendance

We want to offer as many opportunities as possible to families who are able to attend these holiday clubs. For this reason, we will be implementing a non attendance/cancellation policy.

If your child records three failures to attend or late cancellations without contacting us, the credits for these bookings will be lost and any remaining bookings will be cancelled.

You will be able to book activities with your remaining credits, but you will only be able to be access the remaining activities with spaces. Please ensure you provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellation. You can cancel a booking by navigating to "my bookings" or emailing HHbooking@leeds.gov.uk

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellation, failure to do so may result in all bookings being cancelled and removal of access to the Healthy Holidays programme.
